Linux

Their are lots of free Operating systems. Linux has loads of different distros for you to chose from and they are all free to download and use.

After downloading the .ISO file you will need to burn it to a CD go to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iWy0jf5vj4c
for a video on how to do it.

Ubuntu

The most popular distro of Linux is Ubuntu. It is extremely stable and easy to use and is ideal for newbies to Linux. It has all the basic software that you would normaly have to pay for on windows and Mac including a office package, music players and graphic editing software. Plus the great web browser firefox is pre-instaled.

Linux Mint

In my opinion Linux Mint is the best OS you can get. As with all Linux’s its completely free and it is based on the same code as Ubuntu so it has all the same software and ease of use but with a few extra bonuses. Just some of the things it come with is flash, Java and various other media codecs. But not only that it looks stunning, gone is the brown on brown colour scheme of Ubuntu and in comes the amazing stylish looks of Mint. In fact it is so good, it is my OS of choice
